Bayless Wiley Hub and CCM Stuff...

Does anyone have an idea of what the following components are worth, in today's market?  The pictures show dirty items but the parts will clean up really well.  The chrome on the cranks, headset and stem is really good.  The wheels are also chrome and in good shape also.  I intend to strip and clean everything today.  Anyway, the pictures...

Not sure why the pictures did not load in the initial post.  Trying again...

not worth much, probably a $50 bike

My favorite stem and those philips pedals will be nice after a rebuild .

To bad the seat is so beat up .

Are the wheels 26   or 28 inch westwoods should maybe show a shot of the whole bike ?

For fifty dollars, back to the dum with mosst of the stuff.  However...

I do have a lovely set of 28" wheels with the raised center.  The wheels off of the bike I just got are 26" wheels, again with the raised center but I am not sure of condition as I have had no time to clean and inspect.  Both sets of wheels are fitted with original looking tires that are in good shape.

What would wheels like that be worth per set.  I will get some pictures tomorrow, but can't do it today.  The wheels, I should add, might already be spoken for.  If not, I will list them here, in the proper forum.

with scrap prices being so low you might not get much for it at the dump

a few days ago, a scaper was on my street on trash day and he had at least 10 bikes at the back of pickup

he was picking up a few wheels and frames I had put on the curb and asked him what he was getting for a complete bike in scrap .... he told me $7 to $8 a bike!!!

you might get more in parts, I don't know ..... I don't part bikes for resale!!!  I part bikes to use the parts and let the scrapers do the rest, not worth the time to make $5-$10 here and there

If you can reach the buyers, more can be made from the parts alone. than the whole bicycle.

It can take time. Price and shipping cost can stand in the way. A good example is the triplex hub and crank arms that were put up on eBay recently, a vendor in BC. The hub went, the crank arms are still there at $100. Nice pieces but there is a limited market for such things. People with an interest in CCM for whatever reason are not numerous.

Only a well heeled collector would spring for the $100 and (in this case) it might be money better spent to have your old cranks replated and save another rare part from the dump.

There are a lot of things to consider with an old bike.
