CCM in Australia

Hi All, long time reader and first time poster,

I acquired a few years ago a CCM Massey, i have been searching for the model and its year.
I was told it is a early pre-war bike, the cranks and chainwheel have CCM, it came with pedals and seatpost, Im not sure about the wheels and the Kelly bars are something i had lying around and threw them on.
The frame is black however there are remains of a maroon colour under the paint.
At soempoint of its life its had the cotterpin welded on however i have riden it for a short distance and its stance is a reminder of the bikes from yesteryear.
Anyone be able to help identify its model or approx. year or any images of how it originally would have looked like?

Thanks to all

Sweet ride. Tells a real story. Only original once and well used if a guy only new half the stories of the bike.

hey welcome from the land down under. Is the headbadge marked Weston or Toronto?

John

Hi, thanks all

The head ribbon is marked Weston

Hello metalm,

Nice bike, on the seatpost lug left side there should be a serial number stamped.

There are a number of sites listing CCM serial numbers, some examples are shown below:

1933=U12345 1934=W12345 1935=X12345 1936=Z12345

The only thing i can't figure out in the CCM Massey Harris Pictures is if you look one bike has 3 turns in the head badge other 2 have just 2 turns. i have never seen A massey bike with just 2 turns to the badge. And these bike are very early as they have old style massey crank in them. Also notice CCM style ajustable handle bar stem on all bikes in picture with 3 bikes. Some later CCM massey bikes say  20,s and 30.s had  2 turn badge but these bike are a lot earlier than that.

Dave,

Thanks for posting the great pictures.

I am still looking for some toe clips for my 1926 Flyer.

Regards

Tony
