Hi, New CCM Prestige Owner
Hi, everyone, I'm Rikker from north of Toronto, Ontario. I'm a new CCM Prestige P35 owner and would like to know more about this bike. I couldn't find anything about it on the internet but I did discover this website. It may or may not be "vintage" but the quality and workmanship are exceptional. Here are some specs and photos:
SPECIFICATIONS:
Alulite 44cm (17.5") frame
Aluminum alloy rims, handlebars, crank arms.
IRC road/mountain tires 26x1.95
Shimano SIS 21 speed
Shimano V-Brake
VYB front suspension
Memoflex II wide seat
Light sea blue/green colour
The rear derailleur appears to be a Shimano Tourney, RD-TY22, while the brake/shifter levers appear to be Shimano Altus, ST-EF28. These would place the bicycle circa 1998-2001 or possibly slightly later if they had leftover stock. If you want to narrow down the timeline, the back of the rear derailleur and the underside of the brake/shifter levers should have a two letter date code stamped or cast inside a circle. In its era, this would have been considered an entry level "comfort bicycle".
Thanks T-Mar. Amazing info! I found the following info on this bike:
Shifter: ST-EF28; Date code Ye
Derailler: RD-TY22; Date Code YJ
The brake shift lever was manufactured in May 2000 and the rear derailleur was manufactured in October 2000. Based on this, the earliest bicycle assembly date would have been very late 2000. Like automobiles, bicycle manufacturers typically start building the new models in the autumn, as it's desirable to have the new models available for the lucrative Christmas season. Consequently, this is most likely a 2001 model, though I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a 2002 model.
