T. Eaton Glider?

Received the following photos along with the following note:

Cleaning up the rear wheel hub disclosed a  HERCULES, 'Made in Canada' gear. Serial number below the seat is H15161. The front label may say 'Glider' and/or T. Eaton Co. but is not clear. The tire are '28 Fox Heavy Duty'. My searches suggest that this is a HERCULES bike, possibly made/assembled by CCM. Dating it around 1920-30. The wooden wheels seem odd at this late date but they did make them.

As the story goes, I had stopped to see about some old tractors and this bike was in the back of one of the buildings. As a sometime 'picker' and having watched 'American Pickers', I could not resist asking if it was for sale. Purchased it on spec not knowing really what it was but did know the wood wheel bicycles are rare. I will clean it up a little, tighten the wheel cones, etc. but make no changes to it in preparation for sale. Any additional information is welcome.

hi Paul i have an original ccm 1934 double bar bike with the Identical sprocket as your T EATON GLIDER .

I would place this bike late teens or 20,s. Nice bike to bad rear rim is done also seat looks shot also.I think it might be made by CCM as looks a lot like some early CCM.s I have had. Hercules is just the name of the coaster brake. If it just says hercules it is very early the next ones say New Hercules better bearing surface and parts do not interchange with earlier ones.

Hi Paul,  I hope that you post on the site when you decide to sell.  I may be interested.  David dwebb16@cogeco.ca
