What Year Is This Bike?

Good day ! I was wondering how to ID this bike ? I am surprising my Dad with rebuilding it as it belongs to him.The number/letter stamped on the seat post clamp is 45611 and D underneath that number. Also, will this number help identify the model of the bike as well ?  How about original color ,decals, badging? Thanks so much ... Wade from Alberta,Canada eh !

Hi Wade, post pictures because we can't help you without seeing what you've got.

offhand i'd say it's a '52. I have a '51 and that was red with white fenders from the factory. Couldn't find any decals on it or any traces of them. of course, like Old-Bikes said, we can't know for sure unless we see pictures because there have been oddities found with serial numbers

Thanks for the help so far ! I will soon add some pics. I can tell you the bike has chrome fenders and not sure if this is correct or should be refinished in white? Also, looking for some replacement vintage tires (26x1 3/8) and CCM front badge for the frame. The handlebar stem has been brazed together and I would like to replace this as well. Hand grips and pedals I see on the CCM  WEB site.  Thanks again

Good day! Here are the pics that should help identify further which year & model this bike is?

I think you might be needing another fork also.Or with luck you might be able to pull it back into  right position.

What about Dad?  Does he know?

It has some ressemblance to the CCM Pro F Racer frame from 1938 but details are not clear enough in the cataloge?

See 38 cataloge in this section at the bottom. take away the drop bars and stem and the frame looks similar?

An inter-war Pro Racer would not use the dual plate fork. Besides, the seat stays are too thick and the serial number places it 1952. It appears to be one of the Club Racer variants. It could be built up as a coaster brake, fixed gear, internally geared 3 speed or a derailleur equipped 3 speed, as all were offered, at least in 1951. By 1954 they only offered an internally geared or derailleur equipped 3 speed. Unfortunately, I don't have the 1952 catalog.

In 1951 the colour options were maroon, azure blue or green with a gold head tube. There was also marigold with a black head tube. By 1954, the marigold option had been dropped, the maroon was switched to red and the catalogue specifcally states metallic paints. Again, I can't state exactly what the options were in 1952.

It would have used the standard 1950s CCM headbadge which was the metal, enamelled, oval version.

This post was fairly old before member Derailled bumped it, so hopefully the OP is still viisting the forum periodically.
