Centrix

I have a bicycle that is badged as Centrix. The bicycle has all the CCM components including CCM triplex crank and sprocket,28inch drop center rims and ccm hubs .It is a single camel back X bar with no serial #so far can't find it.But it was a garden bike and is painted with lots of  green, the bike OG colour is red  .So Is the Centrix a house brand of CCM or did Centrix use CCM components on there models?
Ill post a picture Thanks GT

Jamie's Collection

Jamie,

This is a great collection for reference. Thanks.

Now I believe all of the top row are prewar.

Also I know during the war CCM used a decal, I am not sure when they started with the decal (I don't think it was the start of the war).

I believe post war they used badge 'N' ,as I have labelled , in 1947 until 1949.

I think in 1950 they began to use badge 'O'. All you experts please help. The rest I am not sure of.

Thanks,

Mark

Canadian Bicycle Badges

Hi,

Here is a sample of Canadian Bicycle Badges I have collected over the years; hopefully these will help to recognise the changes over the years and even to discover some new ones previously unknown.  I am always trying to increase my collection; especially Canadian.  Enjoy and let's see some others that are out there.

Best regards

Jamie

SCP

Hi
I have just found this forum and it is of personal interest to me as my Dad(Ed Hughes)worked for 30 years for SCP. He started out around 1932 at $0.25 and gradually worked his way to foreman. my Dad was a motorcycle rider and racer. He went with the company because they had plans to make motorcycles.I remember my Dad taking me to the plant in the late 50s in the summer when I was off school. The plant in those days was located at 600 Victoria Park Ave but I believe the first plant was around Carlaw and Dundas.

Troxel Seats

Old-bikes is correct Troxel seats where available in the thirties on different CCM models .Here is a Troxel seat that came original on a 1936 CCM Flyte.

Evangeline Light Roadster

I wish some information for a non-online friend.  He wishes to restore a bicycle.  The names on the bicycle are Evangeline Light Roadster, Yarmouth Cycle Company (Nova Scotia).  He believes that it was manufactured in the USA, possibly on the eastern seaboard.  He believes that it was "rebadged" by the Yarmouth Cycle Company.  He is looking for the name of the manufacturer and contact information for a source of parts and supplies, particularly for the wheels.   I am new to this site.  I will try to upload a picture next week.  (He live

Question about bicycle tires and wheels, 1915-`940

Hi,

I have just picked up a British BSA military bicycle frame, for the WW2 Mk V bicycle, as used by Canadian soldiers during WW2.  Photos of Dieppe and Normandy beaches show this bike, although the folding paratrooper model was more common.  I have discovered that the British used 28x1 5/8 or 1 3/4 inch tires on the Mk V .  This seems wider than the normal 28 x 1 1/2 inch wheels and tires that appear on bicycles from this era.

Werlich Bicycles - Models and Serial Numbers

Picked up this old Werlich at the end of June (needs a little TLC). Based on my Werlich catalogue, I believe it is from the mid fifties. Attached are photos and a page scanned out of Werlich Catalogue No.40 (1956). In the catalogue the suggested sale price was penciled in at $54.95

Good clean fun

So it might be instructive to google the vintage bicycle site out here on the Left Coast.

It's called Vancruisers and it promotes most of our rides. I would look for the Lucha Libre ride video and then look at many of the other albums and videos.

I know it looks like we're not having much fun but we're a sober, quiet bunch.

Aslo give the Velo Vixens site a look.
