70's new old stock information

I got my hands on a new old stock unassembled Ranger (serial Axxxxxx) and a Rebel (Bxxxxxx). Is it safe to assume by others research that these are 1977 and 1978 years? Is there any value to these as they are or would it be better to assemble them?

Thank you.

You are correct with the years. They are 70s.

Caps Bike Shop in BC had a lot of these available and sold them off

last year. The owner sold off most of the things he had in storage for many years.

There are quite a few out there but still a great bike to build and ride.

Not a big value. I think they sold for 100.00 for the 20" and 150.00 for the 26".

I would like a Ranger but the shipping to ON from BC was almost as much as the bike.

Enjoy them !

If it is OK to ask...

Where are you located ?

Where did you get them from ?

BC and from local auction

Not big money.
Better build them and list them on Kijiji or Marketplace.
Might be able to get $200-$300 each if you are in a town with an university.

Just notice that one is 20'. This one will be hard to sell. I had 6 NOS 20'bikes similar to it and I had a hard time selling them. Got $75 for each of them!!!

The dates are skewed by one year. The Ranger is a 1976 model, while the Rebel is a 1977 model. However, I agree that they are not worth much. The Ranger is a juvenile model with an 18" frame and 26" wheels, while the Rebel is a sidewalk bicycle with 15" frame and 20" wheels. There will be no appeal for university students. They're also from the era when CCM's reputation had become quite tarnished. If the OP is lucky, he'll find some people in the 50-60 year age range who had one of these when they were growing up and want to buy one for a grandchild.

Spot on Tmar
18" is too small

Yeah I think thats the case. Interest has been high and for some reason most seem interested in the smaller 20" rebel. I think your right in that its some looking to remember their childhood or for their grandchildren. I'll keep you posted!
