Another note

Received the following note and photos. Can anyone help? John

I believe I have a ccm Frameset and was wondering if you can help identify year, model, and how to build it up?  I will be interested finding history of  bike and best way to build it so its period correct?  The serial number is on the bottom bracket.  It is X23053. It also havs a pineapple shaped Panto at the beginning and end of the serial number.

serial number would date it to 1935, and I really think it's a CCM Flyer because of the fork crown.

I concur. Based on the forks and stays, it does indeed appear to be a Flyer. The easiest way to distinguish a Flyer from a Road Racer (or other CCM models), is to measure the seat post diameter. The standard CCM seat post was 7/8" diameter, but the Flyer(  used a larger, 1-1/16" diameter post. This was a direct result of the thinner wall, higher tensile strength tubing used to reduce the frame weight.

Sorry, I don't have a 1935 ctalogue to give the exact component options.

John,

Do you still have this bike?

Tony:

This bike was never mine. The info and photos were sent to me. I can try and hunt down the contact info if you wish.
