Also 28 X 1 3/4 British size and a bunch of European designations like 28 X 1 5/8 X 1 1/4. Most tires advertised these days as 28 X 1 1/2 British size which has a 635 mm bead diameter. The 635 bead diameter tires are still very common in Africa, India, China, and many other Asian countries.

We recent had a ladies 28" wheel coaster thru, had F.13 rims ( 36 R, 32 F) that would not fit any 622 tires, even super cheap ones...we ended up trying 630 ISO tires that worked, albeit loosely. In the end the customer opted with inexpensive Alloy disc box section rims, with no machined brake track. Looked ok. The bike had been poorly repainted by hand so.... Serial # not legible, too much paint.
