Got this one a couple years ago

About six years ago the neighbor had a garage sale explained he got this bike from his Dad in 1956,I should have bought it as it was in incredible condition, another neighbor bought it, put flowers in the basket, painted it light green and left it out in all weather for four or five years, I bought it at her estate sale

Oven cleaner with eye protection and rubber gloves followed by a hose or pressure washer will clean off the repaint while leaving the original paint intact. Try it for 10 minutes at a time - left too long and it will take it down to the steel.

I did try oven cleaner at the car was pressure washer - all that came off was what you see on the rear fender and seat - few spots on the frame -- I was really surprised as that is how we removed lettering on vehicles at the bodyshop back in the early 1990's -- may have to work at it with reducer or even thinner - Winter project - it was in such good condition before -- I can't see the serial number by the seat either - he got it used in 1956 so I'm thinking 1940's ? ( it has a Columbia metal head badge

I can see the progress on the rear fender, just keep going with it! Maybe leave the chemical on a little longer. The whole bike will be clean of that awful paint with some persistance and patience.
