Very good question! I know the USA law banning lead paint content in most consumer products went into effect in 1978. While there's a possibiilty that CCM and/or Canada eliminated it earlier, they typically followed USA practices, so there's a big probability that the vast majority of Weston built frames used lead based paint. It would certainly give one pause to rethink stripping a frame and the means of disposing of the stripped paint.

Yes ccm definately used lead paint, this is one of the reasons their paint was so durable and stood the test of time.
