old rambler

Hi

I have an old CCM bike that belonged to my late wife. I posted on this website some time ago, asking for help dating it. After much debate, the consensus was that it is somewhere between 1963-66. I believe it is a Rambler. The bike is in reasonably good condition, and I put new tires and pedals on it about a year ago.

Any thoughts on the value appreciated.

thanks

Since you last posted I have completed a study of mid to late 1960s serial numbers using 499 sets of data from an old CCM Sales Log. Based on the results, I can now state, with a high degree of confidence, that the G-codes are from 1964. While I don't have the catalogue from that year, it does appear to a Rambler. The only other blue, female coaster model that year was the Imperial MKIV which was an upscale model that featured different fenders and chainguard, and relatively elaborate decals on the frame. Sorry, I can't help with the value, though the modern, plastic pedals and ripped saddle will drop the potential value slightly.

Thanks for your help on the date. As for the value, I realize this is not some rare collector's item. I'm just thinking it's time to find a good home for this bike and would like to establish a fair price. So still looking for input.
